Siri står for 25% av trafikken til Wolfram AlphaLanseringen av iPhone 4S introduserte verden, spesielt den engelsk språklige verden, for Apples «virtuelle assistent» Siri. Siri svarer på mange spørsmål, men viste du at mange av svarene faktisk leveres av tjenesten Wolfram Alpha?

Wolfram Alpha er en annerledes søkemotor og beskriver seg selv som «computational knowledge engine» - dvs. den søker ikke etter nettsider som har svaret, men prøver å gi deg svaret der og da. Apple har integrert og betalt for bruk av Wolfram Alpha i Siri og iPhone 4S og mange av spørsmålene som du stiller Siri besvares egentlig av Wolfram Alpha.

Etter introduksjonen av Siri har antallet søk som går gjennom Wolfram Alpha økt med over 20% og hele 25% av alle søk på tjenesten går nå gjennom Siri på iPhone 4S. Siri er fortsatt kun tilgjengelig på et lite utvalg av språk, noe som gjør det store søkevolumet enda mer imponerende.

Wolfram Alpha finnes som en egen applikasjon på iPhone og iPad (NOK 21,- i App Store). Du kan dermed få mange av de samme svarene selv om du ikke har iPhone 4S og Siri gjennom denne applikasjonen.

Har brukt wolfram en stund og det er GENIALT! Bruker det på iPaden mens jeg sitter og gjør matte.
